What is IYENGAR YOGA?

The Iyengar Yoga is a method of posture (asana) and breathing (pranayama) practices adapted by B. K. S. Iyengar from classical Yoga teachings and as such it is considered as the most comprehensive and consistent concept of Yoga training. One of the greatest benefits of Iyengar method is its approach to the asana practice that is essential for achievement of therapeutic and relaxation effects of Yoga. As the proper performance of asana is very important, Mr. Iyengar has developed the use of exercise props to help the body into the correct positions that is important especially for beginners and for those who are not able for any reason to master difficulty of asana without support. This is a concept, which have no analogy in any other style of Yoga.
